Elena graduated from Architectural University in Moscow, Russia, and worked in an architectural studio there, focusing on residential projects. After that, she moved to Beijing, China, where she graduated from Beijing Transport University and worked in an Italian architectural studio specializing in residential, hospitality, and commercial projects. After moving to Vancouver in 2016, Elena became part of GWA. She later moved to Dubai, UAE, in 2022 while continuing to work remotely for GWA.
