A truly unique commercial experience, the Baron Manor Centre is one of the few Heritage Restaurant/Shopping Centers in Surrey, B.C. Originally slated for demolition and to be replaced with a storage warehouse in an Industrial Area of Port Kells, Gustavson Wylie Architects worked with the Developer to save the structure and rezone the property from Industrial to Comprehensive Development. Through extensive negotiations with the City of Surrey, the rezoning was passed permitting a mix of restaurant and retail uses to be developed on the site. The opening of the Golden Ears Bridge has helped to funnel traffic past the Baron Manor Center’s front door and has resulted in a successful development. The original Victorian era heritage building has been preserved and is now a themed Pub and Restaurant and is the social centre of the Port Kells neighbourhood along with a vibrant mix of restaurant and service tenants.
